Rock me, Joanneum. Forty years after Woodstock, our annual focus brought historic and current tendencies of the rock and pop movement of 1968 onto the museum stage. In the museum building on Neutorgasse, the project “absolutely free” examined the effects of the Woodstock phenomenon on Styria. Three channels of information combined portraits of contemporary witnesses, artistic interventions and cultural-historical background. At the Kunsthaus Graz, Diedrich Diederichsen curated the exhibition “Woodstock, what's left?” as a subject of visual art, showing artistic positions whose methods and questions took up the politics of the body, the production of knowledge and their relations to the world.
