Galerie KunSTeiner, Wiener Straße 37, 2340 Mödling. Thursday 28 April 2016 to 29 June 2016. The opening of “Heimat/Habitat”, works by the painter C.F.J. König, at Galerie KunSTeiner in Mödling, with an introduction by the member of the state parliament and mayor Hans Stefan Hintner.
C.F.J. König: “The concept of home mostly points to a relationship between a person and a space. In ordinary usage it is applied to the place a person is born into, where the earliest experiences of socialisation take place — the ones that first shape identity, character, mentality, attitudes and views of the world. In this cycle of pictures I occupy myself with that theme and consider it from various perspectives.” And he goes on: “Every person has different identities and different homes. I once had precise ideas of what home is called. In principle I thought my house was my home. But now I suspect it is quite different. A little home sits in each of us. Wherever we arrive — a piece of home is always there.”
