daydream
Pigments & acrylic resin on canvas · 120x100cm/2012
Total absorption, reality dissolving: the complete absence of separating contours or cool counterpoints conveys a state of absolute inward absorption, of timeless calm and of the self gently merging with its surroundings. The motif of the daydream is translated in purely painterly terms — a state in which the boundaries between one's own thoughts (the face) and the surrounding space (the red) blur completely. It is the visual equivalent of consciousness drifting off, warm and content.
