Vibration and the struggle for visibility: the countless lines of light running downward convey a permanent restlessness, a nervousness, a visual noise. The composition denies the eye any firm, calming point of rest. The picture describes the emotional suspension between the radiant freshness of the light in front (yellow) and, at the same time, the uncanny depth of the shadow (green) — an intense state of lurking and waiting, in which what is hidden could break through the structure in a fraction of a second. As an extremely shy predator the wolf lives mostly out of sight, yet through its successful return to central Europe it is quite really present in our forests — a fascinating duality: invisible to the human eye and at the same time an active part of our ecosystem. Framed in a Halbe Magnet museum frame.
