Looked at more closely, a vertical human silhouette peels itself out of the centre of the picture. The contours of a figure in profile or half-profile — head and shoulders — can be made out faintly, running from top to bottom. Yet the figure never becomes graspable; it seems caught behind thick glass, or in dense fog.
