Villac Umu
Pigments & acrylic resin on canvas · 60x150cm/1996
When the Villac Umu enters the temple of seamless stone, the breath of the Andes falls silent. He is the high priest of the sun, the mediator between the burning eye of Inti and the moist body of the earth. His robe breathes the smoke of coca and myrrh, and in his hands rests the fate of the empire. He does not call with words — he calls with the blood of nature.
